According to a report issued by the
Centers for Disease Control (CDC)
in 2006, approximately 78% of
residents in Texas served by
community water systems receive
water that has been fluoridated. The
CDC, unfortunately, is very
pro-fluoride, and they are working
hard to increase that percentage to

College Station Council
Votes to End Fluoridation
On September 22, 2011, the College
Station Council voted 6-1 to end a
22-year practice of adding fluoride to the
city's water supply. This decision will
positively impact approximately 100,000
residents as well as the campus of Texas
A&M by providing safer drinking water
and will also save the city about $42,000
each year.
